inji electrifies washington, dc
About 2 years ago, I had the amazing opportunity to photograph rising pop-star Inji at The Atlantis in Washington, DC. About 2 weeks ago, I had the same amazing opportunity to photograph her at the 9:30 Club; Atlantis' larger sister venue. Both performances blew my expectations out of the water - the ecstatic energy Inji brought to the stage flowed throughout the audience who returned it right back to her. Singing, dancing, laughing, yelling, and everything in-between flooded

Young the Giant Started off June in The Florida Leg of Their Victory Garden Tour, With cold War Kids and Almost Monday
It was such a pleasure at the beginning of this month catching Young the Giant again in South Florida. While I covered them a few years ago in Miami, this time around was a bit further north in Fort Lauderdale at the War Memorial Auditorium, a beautiful relatively new venue (that happens to be right next door to where I'm living now)! Young the Giant is currently on their US Victory Garden tour, showcasing their newest album that was released on May 1st this year. Playing the

fightmaster in la
E.R. Fightmaster kicked off their All or Nothing Tour with a sold out hometown performance at El Cid in Los Angeles, marking it as the first stop of the tour to sell out. Throughout the night, they balanced the set with fan favorites, newer releases, and first-ever live performances of unreleased songs from their upcoming album, including “Minotaur,” “Glide,” and another song jokingly referred to as “the one for divorcees.” Between songs, Fightmaster admitted they hadn’t prep

jeff draco - a look into excess
A few weeks ago, I sat down (on the internet) with Jeff Draco to discuss the release of his latest album Excess, the modern-age yearning for community, and the worlds largest chest of drawers. Residing in the Washington, DC area since 2018, Jeff has become a staple within the capital's indie-pop music scene. With his unforgettable live performances across the DMV area at iconic venues such as the 9:30 Club, as well as touring cross-country with artists such as The Thing With

let's talk about the band Lookers!
We’re so excited about Providence, Rhode Island-based Lookers and their debut release Deeper , out now via Almost Ready Records! Tracks like “Animal” and “Bury You Under” are especially resemblant of The Breeders, with sturdy and expressive talk-singing, sticky textures, and atmospheric distortion that focus you in on each song’s driving heartbeats. “Alone” ushers in a different tone, with jangly instrumentation and light, airy melodies that allow lead vocalist Muggs Fogart

NEW COLOSSUS RECAP
GALLERY, WORDS, AND PLAYLIST BY MADDIE BARKOCY New Colossus 2025 took place from March 4-9 in NYC across 12 Lower East Side venues and featured nearly 200 artists. During those six days, I was the closest I’ll ever be to being in multiple places at one time. I managed to hop between seven venues, listen to sets by 49 artists, and drink more frozen margarita/deli coffee power combos than were ever intended for consumption. And somehow I’m still having severe FOMO over the set

Daniel Seavey in Boston
Daniel Seavey brought his Second Wind tour to Boston, MA at Big Night Live. Seavey was speechless at the crowd’s energy, belting every lyric back to him. This was his biggest audience till date and fans flew from LA to see him. One of the favorite parts of the show is when he uses a loop pedal to perform a song he has never heard before. For the Boston show it was “She will be Loved” by Maroon 5. It is clear that Seavey is only getting started and to catch him on tour, click

JoJo in Boston
On March 26, 2025, Joanna Levesque, otherwise known as JoJo, returned to her roots with a captivating performance at Roadrunner in Boston, part of her "Too Much to Say" tour. The Foxborough native, who first charted the Billboard Top 40 at just 13 years old, delivered a night filled with nostalgia, emotion, and powerful vocals. Check out the photo gallery from the lovely Bhumika below!

Role Model is the diva we didn't know we needed
At approximately 2 AM on Friday March 14, Philadelphia’s East Allen Street saw the first glimpses of dedicated Role Model fans. Covered in gingham and denim, clutching homemade signs and their cowboy hats, Fillmore venue employees noted that it had been a while since they had seen a line so long – but his fans were more than happy to set a new precedent. Newly heartbroken, Role Model (Tucker Pillsbury) seemed to have found his silver lining. His album Kansas Anymore , which

mannequin pussy at revolution live
Last week in Fort Lauderdale, I got the chance to photograph Mannequin Pussy at one of my favorite South Florida venues. This was my third time seeing the band and their energy and stage presence never do disappoint. The first time I caught them live was a few years ago in an intimate venue in Miami (Gramps, another one of my favorite South Florida spots). It is truly a pleasure to watch this band grow and play larger venues and various festivals. I am happy they again made
