Yesterday evening, I returned to my favorite Miami venue to catch Modest Mouse play their second of 2 sold out shows, before their Ice Cream Float cruise. The cruise will feature 3 performances from the band as well as several other talented artists, such as Portugal. the Man, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Mannequin Pussy, Built to Spill, and many more... The packed crowd was filled with fans in sailor hats preparing for the embarkation the following day. Isaac joked that the

Del Water Gap chases the chimera…all the way to Philadelphia
“Philly is a second home,” Del Water Gap explains to a crowd of a couple thousand, on a cold Saturday night. Following the release of his third album, Chasing The Chimera, and returning for the first time in a handful of years, it seems he’s more than glad to be back. The setlist was packed with new fan favorites, like lead single “How To Live” and “Small Town Joan of Arc,” off his latest album. He pointed out the origin of “Ghost in the Uniform” being that of a Covid-era si

Twenty One Pilots “Breach” Tour
During the months of September and October 2025, I made my way to areas of the country I've never even thought of in order to catch a few stops of Twenty One Pilots' Breach tour. If you know me, you know I've spent the past 10 years traveling up, down, and around to see this band perform because one show of any Twenty One Pilots tour is just not enough. The visual production never ceases to amaze - animations dancing throughout amphitheater screens and lighting cues timed

the wombats at the culture room
seeing the wombats perform in fort lauderdale last night (at their first south florida show) was incredibly nostalgic to me. they kicked off their tour in the sunshine state earlier this week in st. augustine, commenting on how even the chilly weather was an improvement to the dreary grey winter og england. granted, it was still over 60 degrees F (us floridian residents tend to complain about any temperatures under 70F). this show brought me back to my college days, when goi

brooklyn-based band Nation of Language plays their first Miami show at Zeyzey
my history with this band began in july 2018 at mercury lounge in nyc. i was attending a mini mansions concert that evening and nation of language was the opening band. at that time, i was still quite young so queueing for shows was my usual concert routine. so naturally, i was in the front row. soon the lights dimmed, and I witnessed my first NoL set, which mesmerized me - i remember a friend who i made in line said, "this band is incredible, they're going places." and he w

a chat with You Said Strange
Underground Zine got to sit down and chat with some of the members of the band on Sunday before they played their final set of the festival at Arlene’s Grocery. We discussed their shifting approach to recording, local French bands, the value of a crowd’s energy, Angry Birds, and the peculiar nature of aviation. Keep reading to get to know the band!

close personal friend, Audrey Hobert, visits the theatre of living arts
Fresh snow coated the street leading up to the Theatre of Living Arts, as the staff shoveled the powder and dusted off the marquee. Eccentric and relatable, the girls’ girl of all girls’ girls, the name in black cap letters read Audrey Hobert . A mix of metallic Mary Janes and Reebok Club Cs footprinted the salty sidewalk as groups of friends huddled under a communal scarf. They had lined up since before doors, despite the below-freezing temperatures. They were eager to hang
