inji electrifies washington, dc
About 2 years ago, I had the amazing opportunity to photograph rising pop-star Inji at The Atlantis in Washington, DC. About 2 weeks ago, I had the same amazing opportunity to photograph her at the 9:30 Club; Atlantis' larger sister venue. Both performances blew my expectations out of the water - the ecstatic energy Inji brought to the stage flowed throughout the audience who returned it right back to her. Singing, dancing, laughing, yelling, and everything in-between flooded

Young the Giant Started off June in The Florida Leg of Their Victory Garden Tour, With cold War Kids and Almost Monday
It was such a pleasure at the beginning of this month catching Young the Giant again in South Florida. While I covered them a few years ago in Miami, this time around was a bit further north in Fort Lauderdale at the War Memorial Auditorium, a beautiful relatively new venue (that happens to be right next door to where I'm living now)! Young the Giant is currently on their US Victory Garden tour, showcasing their newest album that was released on May 1st this year. Playing the

fightmaster in la
E.R. Fightmaster kicked off their All or Nothing Tour with a sold out hometown performance at El Cid in Los Angeles, marking it as the first stop of the tour to sell out. Throughout the night, they balanced the set with fan favorites, newer releases, and first-ever live performances of unreleased songs from their upcoming album, including “Minotaur,” “Glide,” and another song jokingly referred to as “the one for divorcees.” Between songs, Fightmaster admitted they hadn’t prep

jeff draco - a look into excess
A few weeks ago, I sat down (on the internet) with Jeff Draco to discuss the release of his latest album Excess, the modern-age yearning for community, and the worlds largest chest of drawers. Residing in the Washington, DC area since 2018, Jeff has become a staple within the capital's indie-pop music scene. With his unforgettable live performances across the DMV area at iconic venues such as the 9:30 Club, as well as touring cross-country with artists such as The Thing With

close personal friend, Audrey Hobert, visits the theatre of living arts
Fresh snow coated the street leading up to the Theatre of Living Arts, as the staff shoveled the powder and dusted off the marquee. Eccentric and relatable, the girls’ girl of all girls’ girls, the name in black cap letters read Audrey Hobert . A mix of metallic Mary Janes and Reebok Club Cs footprinted the salty sidewalk as groups of friends huddled under a communal scarf. They had lined up since before doors, despite the below-freezing temperatures. They were eager to hang

laundry day in philadelphia
New York natives Jude, Sawyer, Henry, and Henry – best known as Laundry Day – brought their latest album to Philadelphia’s The Foundry at The Fillmore. The group celebrated the release of Earworm , a tight ten-track pop rock album with support from WhatMore. “ R U READY? ” the album’s first song and aptly, the first song of the set began the night. Other new album favorites included “ LITTLE MISS JADED ”, “ APEROL SPRITZ ”, and a performance of the lead single " SUPERMODEL ”

the aces in philadelphia
Celebrating their latest disco-pop album, Gold Star Baby , The Aces return to Philadelphia Adorned in leather jackets and hot pink feather boas, The Aces took the stage at The Theatre of Living Arts. Bringing disco-pop back (as if it ever left), the four-piece group’s musical evolution continues in this latest project. “This album is all about joy, confidence, even cockiness, and sex appeal. We feel now that we’re grown women, we can explore those things in a way that fee

royel otis at franklin music hall
Australian indie duo Royel Otis kicked off the meet me in the car tour following the release of their album hickey at Philadelphia’s Franklin Music Hall. For fans, there was no better way to spend their Friday night. Just like the first track on their new record, “ i hate this tune ” launched the set, with the majority of the setlist featuring songs from Royel Otis’ new album, hickey . Crowd favorites like “ who’s your boyfriend ,” “ moody ,” and “ car ” were played, amo

finn wolfhard at the atlantis
Finn Wolfhard and friends stopped by the iconic Atlantis venue in Washington, DC during their Objection! tour celebrating Finn's newest album release, Happy Birthday . I had the very exciting opportunity to photograph a few songs from this show, and I'm ecstatic to share the gallery! The intimate, cozy nature of this performance along with the energy brought by Finn and his band was something unimaginable. The audience connected with the music in a way I have yet to see at

fust at the avalon lounge
We’re nearing the end of a cozy set by North Carolina-based alt-country outfit Fust . The initially shy yet attentive audience that had plastered itself with care to the walls has since warmed up: someone has taken a front and center seat on the ground and a small group has sectioned off a dance floor, while those who know every word have finally gained the courage to mouth along in good company. Earlier on, Adeline Hotel cracked the night open with a set that left us all s

in the spotlight - aricel
Aricel DuBois ’ second DIY EP release, Brown Eyes at Night , isn’t interested in appealing to an audience who seeks a “methodized-put-together-clean look”. It’s for listeners who seek to present themselves, to find others, who are uncut, raw– sometimes even messy. With one month since her release and days away from her next live performance, I got to sit down with Aricel and hear all about her thought process that isn’t completely translated in through this project. Thank

empire of the sun in DC
I recently had the incredible opportunity to photograph Empire of the Sun on their DC stop of the Ask That God tour. This show was easily my number one of the year so far; the energy from both the band and the crowd was electrifying. The production of the show was beautiful - so many moving parts to bring a once in a lifetime experience. Check out my photo gallery from the night below! Eva

in the spotlight : julia wolf
New York-raised, LA-based Julia Wolf has been taking the world by storm with her DIY mentality and gothic approach to slice-of-life musings. Underground photographer Melody Myers had the opportunity to take portraits of this rising star and we’re so excited to share more about Julia Wolf and her work. Wolf wears her heart on her sleeve as an artist. Though she has a specifically crafted aesthetic world around her music, it all stems from a very true part of herself, honoring
