inji electrifies washington, dc
About 2 years ago, I had the amazing opportunity to photograph rising pop-star Inji at The Atlantis in Washington, DC. About 2 weeks ago, I had the same amazing opportunity to photograph her at the 9:30 Club; Atlantis' larger sister venue. Both performances blew my expectations out of the water - the ecstatic energy Inji brought to the stage flowed throughout the audience who returned it right back to her. Singing, dancing, laughing, yelling, and everything in-between flooded

Young the Giant Started off June in The Florida Leg of Their Victory Garden Tour, With cold War Kids and Almost Monday
It was such a pleasure at the beginning of this month catching Young the Giant again in South Florida. While I covered them a few years ago in Miami, this time around was a bit further north in Fort Lauderdale at the War Memorial Auditorium, a beautiful relatively new venue (that happens to be right next door to where I'm living now)! Young the Giant is currently on their US Victory Garden tour, showcasing their newest album that was released on May 1st this year. Playing the

fightmaster in la
E.R. Fightmaster kicked off their All or Nothing Tour with a sold out hometown performance at El Cid in Los Angeles, marking it as the first stop of the tour to sell out. Throughout the night, they balanced the set with fan favorites, newer releases, and first-ever live performances of unreleased songs from their upcoming album, including “Minotaur,” “Glide,” and another song jokingly referred to as “the one for divorcees.” Between songs, Fightmaster admitted they hadn’t prep

jeff draco - a look into excess
A few weeks ago, I sat down (on the internet) with Jeff Draco to discuss the release of his latest album Excess, the modern-age yearning for community, and the worlds largest chest of drawers. Residing in the Washington, DC area since 2018, Jeff has become a staple within the capital's indie-pop music scene. With his unforgettable live performances across the DMV area at iconic venues such as the 9:30 Club, as well as touring cross-country with artists such as The Thing With

Buoyancy by Body Type
If I had to describe Body Type in three words, they would be electric, impulsive, and energetic. ‘Buoyancy’ is Body Type’s new single from their debut album “Everything is Dangerous but Nothing’s Surprising” and it delivers the type of organic liveliness that makes them so unique. Not too long ago, we were gifted with ‘Sex & Rage’, the first release off the upcoming album and golly, was I blown away. Is it too much to say that ‘Buoyancy’ is even better, filled with even more

I Could Cry Right Now If You Wanted Me To By Razor Braids
Since their release of their debut lp, four piece Brooklyn based female rock band, Razor Braids have toured nationally, headlined many venues, and successfully played shows such as the Mercury Lounge and Brooklyn Bowl in just the band’s first year. Combining elements of heavy punk, indie rock and a 90s alternative atmosphere, Holley Bynum (lead vocalist and bassist), Janie Peacock (lead guitar), Jilly Karande (rhythm guitar and vocals), and Hannah Nichols (drums) give it thei

Stories I Am Now Telling You by Quiet Light
Quiet Light’s new EP, ‘Stories I Am Now Telling You’, comes out on April 8th. The EP begins with previously released single, ‘Alight’, and it immediately surrounds you in the glowing ambience of Riya Mahesh’s music. It is a song of adoration so strong it doesn’t need to be requited. ‘Stories I Am Now Telling You’ lives in perfect harmony between mellow acoustic and laid-back indie; between city skylines and early morning light; between The National’s ‘I Am Easy To Find’ and ‘

not good enough by lily ryan
There are very few artists whose voices I find really pull at my heartstrings – and Lily Ryan has certainly earnt her spot on that list. Her talent is astronomical, and she’s only just getting started. Lily’s new single ‘Not good enough’ is a brilliant display of her angelic tone paired with a soft techno mix. The hero of the song is Lily’s voice; it’s like fine wine, with every relisten it just gets better and better. It is truly deliciously intoxicating. ‘Not good enough
