inji electrifies washington, dc
About 2 years ago, I had the amazing opportunity to photograph rising pop-star Inji at The Atlantis in Washington, DC. About 2 weeks ago, I had the same amazing opportunity to photograph her at the 9:30 Club; Atlantis' larger sister venue. Both performances blew my expectations out of the water - the ecstatic energy Inji brought to the stage flowed throughout the audience who returned it right back to her. Singing, dancing, laughing, yelling, and everything in-between flooded

Young the Giant Started off June in The Florida Leg of Their Victory Garden Tour, With cold War Kids and Almost Monday
It was such a pleasure at the beginning of this month catching Young the Giant again in South Florida. While I covered them a few years ago in Miami, this time around was a bit further north in Fort Lauderdale at the War Memorial Auditorium, a beautiful relatively new venue (that happens to be right next door to where I'm living now)! Young the Giant is currently on their US Victory Garden tour, showcasing their newest album that was released on May 1st this year. Playing the

fightmaster in la
E.R. Fightmaster kicked off their All or Nothing Tour with a sold out hometown performance at El Cid in Los Angeles, marking it as the first stop of the tour to sell out. Throughout the night, they balanced the set with fan favorites, newer releases, and first-ever live performances of unreleased songs from their upcoming album, including “Minotaur,” “Glide,” and another song jokingly referred to as “the one for divorcees.” Between songs, Fightmaster admitted they hadn’t prep

jeff draco - a look into excess
A few weeks ago, I sat down (on the internet) with Jeff Draco to discuss the release of his latest album Excess, the modern-age yearning for community, and the worlds largest chest of drawers. Residing in the Washington, DC area since 2018, Jeff has become a staple within the capital's indie-pop music scene. With his unforgettable live performances across the DMV area at iconic venues such as the 9:30 Club, as well as touring cross-country with artists such as The Thing With

Bitch Fight by Lost Cat (Video Premiere + Review )
Los Angeles based girl group Lost Cat are back with a raging banger and video for their newest track "Bitch Fight". With fierce lyrics, and banging drums, I can tell you Lost Cat are here to stay. Following their own ethos of "just creating some good ol' rock and roll" and to be fair, they are doing just that. Drawing from their own life experiences, Lost Cat bring us brash honesty in the form of good old fashion rock and roll, but with their own twist : their lyrics. "Bit

thread by clara mann
Clara Mann’s new single, ‘Thread’, is a dreamlike escape from a hectic world. It’s her first release with new management, 7476, home to artists such as Matt Maltese and tinyumbrellas. Serene guitar echoes warmly, like the sun rising through sweet green pine trees in the springtime. It’s Mann’s vocals that are the true force of this track; there is such a soothing strength behind every word she sings that it stops you in your tracks. Her vocals feel as though they were made to

‘Sukikirai 好き嫌い EP by Mei Semones
I will admit, I’ve never listened to music that is quite like Mei Semones. Her newest EP Sukikirai 好き嫌い is the most delightfully interesting and equally surprising mix of jazz, indie, and J-Pop I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. The three track EP is makes me feel like sitting mysteriously in a café, sipping straight black coffee and reading old classics. Mei’s voice is angelic, singing in both Japanese and English, and carries gently throughout her new project. B

Polar States EP by Polar States
Well, well, well, if it isn’t Polar States back at it again with the thrilling release of their self-titled EP ‘Polar States’. The up-and-coming British indie rock band is gifting us with a brilliant four track masterpiece, comprising of some previous releases as well as the new track ‘Safe House’ – which is definitely my favourite of the EP. It’s full of the traditional synth-y indie sounds, but for me what makes Polar States a really great band is the way British rock eleme
