Recorded in his bedroom in London on a vintage 60s recorder Singer - Songwriter John Myrtle is back with his newest single "Get Her Off My Mind" which is described to be a beach pop anthem love songs of the 60s. Listening to the song you are able to feel the inspiration of 60s love songs, but also an influence from The Beach Boys at the time, but is present the tune and lyrics of the track and inspiration from the likes of The Kinks and The La's. A. track that has been with Myrtle has hanged onto for quite sometime, He comments: “This song was written a long time ago and has stayed with me throughout the years, so to finally give it a release is both exciting and relieving! I remember I was listening to a lot of The Beach Boys at the time and just a lot of classic 60s pop, which I guess is what I listen to anyway. Here though, I wanted to do a song that was just a very simple, catchy 3-minute pop song, like a Monkees track or something!” I believe it was released at the perfect moment. From pop lyrics, this track reminds you of summer, and wanting to be with the person you like. The best way to describe Myrtle’s track is the feeling of summer time fun.
