"kid in the corner" by Misao McCgregor

Misao McGregor is a 24 year old singer-songwriter presenting us with her debut album Kid In The Corner. After graduating from college Misao stated she started "having an existential crisis about what my life is and is supposed to be, I started to focus all of my anxieties into making this album. The album starts with track "23 Hours Old" a voice over from what it seems to be a home movie of McGregor, when she was first born. She sings about very personal times in her life, McGregor's storytelling is phenomenal and you can truly feel what she is feeling with tracks such as "Blue Boi", "She Was Worlds Above Me", and "Eight". McGregor makes her debut album even more personal, by having home video recordings as interludes which gives us an even more insight on her life. She says "each song is meant to shed away another layer of all that I can be to get to the core of who I am. It's an homage to the experiences that have shaped me, both good and bad, and acts as an end to a chapter only to start anew." With magical piano, breathtaking vocals, and honesty Misao really takes us on a journey of her life so far during her 24 years on this planet. She hopes that her debut album will help someone out there, and I truly believe it will too!

Keep up with Misao!
