Maya Caskie is a British-Japanese singer/songwriter based in London. She brings us her newest track called "Mountain of Joy" about being a big sister. In this track ,she mixes her classical training with an indie acoustic twist. Her vocals and lyrics make the song very cozy, and have a heartfelt tone that we could all use at the moment. The lyrics from start to end tells us a story from Maya's point of view, and it's beautifully genuine.
"Mountain of Joy" reminds me of a song that would play in a film where you see a child growing up; mixed with the guitar strumming and violin in the background, it's just perfect. One of my favorite things about this song is how beautifully it goes together. The music and the lyrics flow together so nicely, it was like they were meant to be together. The intertwining of her classical training and indie acoustic twist to the song molds everything together so well. I'm so excited to see what she comes out with next.
