Pop singer/songwriter ALXS released her newest single 1800 LET IT GO! on February 20th; an exciting new track that can be described as "a cathartic anthem for moving on and reclaiming yourself after heartbreak". We had the opportunity to chat with ALXS about her latest release, her experience as a multi-faceted creative, and her devoted audience. Take a listen to 1800 LET IT GO! and keep up to date with ALXS's upcoming projects!

Thank you for taking the time to chat with us! I'd love to dive into your creative process as a musician and artist, specifically surrounding the upcoming release of your anticipated single "1800 LET IT GO!". Is there a particular experience that sparked the creation of the song?

After months of caring what my ex and his friends thought about me, I got to a certain point where the fake rumours started to make me laugh. I finally let go of proving myself and started living my life unapologetically. I know the truth, I’m happy, so that's all that really matters.

You describe "1800 LET IT GO!" as a "cathartic anthem for moving on and reclaiming yourself after heartbreak". How would you describe the sound and lyrical content of this track compared to your previous releases?

Everything about this song is fun and daring. It’s not your typical pop easy listening song. The production demands attention and the lyrics are hilarious. It’s a creative risk that I am so ready to take!

As a lover of all things 90s, how do you incorporate the Y2K aesthetic and nostalgia of the 1990s into your artistic brand?

The 90’s and y2k aesthetic is dominated by feminine and confident women which inspires me so much! In a time where everything in design feels so monotone and modern, I am leaning into pinks and hearts and all things girly.

You've worked with legendary artists and producers such as Pusha T and Kent Jones, what do you feel is the most valuable piece of knowledge you gained from those sessions?

It has been incredibly humbling to work alongside musical geniuses. I have taken countless lessons from them but what stands out most is how trusting they are of their art. Kent trusts himself  every time he writes a line. He never has to ask anyone for their opinion or if it's good, he already knows.

From acting, to modeling, to music - how did those distinct avenues of creativity help form the artist you are today? Do your creative processes between different mediums vary?

I started working when I was just 5 years old so everything in the creative industries feel familiar to me. If I’m filming a music video, I tap into the actress side of myself. If I am taking photos or branding, I am tapping into the model, visual side of myself. I feel like I have lived 12 lives and music gives them a place to co-exist.

You've become a "big-sister voice" on TikTok for women experiencing heartbreak. What drives you to be open and vulnerable with your audience?

At my lowest points when I felt like I had no one, I leaned into watching creators and microinfluencers talk about their experiences, give advice and make light of hard things. Their positivity made me feel less alone. I genuinely feel like some of them are my friends lol

What do you hope your audience takes away from both your music and shared social media experiences?

I hope they know I didn't just wake up this way, I have been through a lot and want them to know they can make it through dark times too. I hope they feel confident and inspired after watching me.

What does 2026 look like for you? Are there any dream collaborations, venues, or milestones you're looking forward to this year?

There is so much in store! Stay tuned to see a lot more of me
